ITV has added a powerful crime documentary, 'Faked: Hunting My Online Predator', which has been hailed as a must-watch for true crime fans. The documentary, now available on ITVX, tells the harrowing story of three women whose lives were turned upside down when they discovered their images were being used without consent on pornography and escort sites.
The documentary follows a five-year hunt for justice by the women, who were portrayed as offering sexual services in deepfake profiles online. Social media users have described it as 'really scary' and 'absolutely horrific', with one TikTok user noting the 'horrific toll' the ordeal took on the women's lives.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain on March 6, victims Kirsty Pellant and Donna King spoke about tracking down the perpetrator. Kirsty, a primary school teacher, recounted a gut-wrenching moment when a child confronted her about explicit images online. She said: 'In that moment, everything stopped, and you feel that gut-wrenching moment.'
'Faked: Hunting My Online Predator' has been compared to BBC's 'Lover, Liar, Predator' and is described as an 'important' watch. It is available to stream on ITVX.
