An aggressive goose has captured widespread attention after a video showed it terrorising students at Florida A&M University (FAMU), with the footage rapidly going viral online. The incident, which unfolded outside the university's journalism school, highlights an unusual campus safety concern as the bird chased and attacked multiple individuals.
Goose Attacks Students in Disturbing Campus Encounter
The antagonistic goose was filmed on March 3, stalking students on a sidewalk near the FAMU journalism building. In the video, the bird can be seen pacing back and forth aggressively, targeting anyone attempting to pass by. Witness Naiké Owens, who recorded the scene from a nearby car, described the goose's behaviour as particularly violent.
"He just attacked this female that was passing by, I’m talking about jumped on her, pulled her hair and everything," Owens says in the clip. The footage shows the goose picking up speed as it trails a student, who flees down a nearby hill to escape. "Oh, he’s aggressive! He is trying to get her!" Owens exclaims during the recording.
Multiple Incidents Reported as Students Scatter
Further scenes in the video depict a student hesitating at the top of a staircase, waiting for a chance to pass the patrolling pest. Another student attempts to brave the sidewalk but is immediately chased and tackled to the ground by the hostile bird. After flying straight at the student, the goose puffs up its chest while continuing to pace, as other students quickly disperse to avoid further attacks.
Owens confirmed to Storyful that the same goose had attacked two other people prior to the video being taken, indicating a pattern of aggressive behaviour. The Independent has contacted FAMU for comment on the incident, but it remains unclear whether the goose is still pestering students on campus or if any measures have been taken to address the situation.
