A secondary school in Melbourne was thrown into chaos on Tuesday afternoon after its principal was allegedly stabbed by another member of staff, leading to a swift lockdown and a police arrest.
Lockdown and Arrest at Keysborough Secondary College
Victoria Police were called to Keysborough Secondary College at approximately 3pm on Tuesday, 2 December, following reports of a serious assault. The incident occurred shortly after the final school bell had rung, sending the campus into emergency procedures.
According to authorities, a male staff member allegedly assaulted the school's principal, inflicting stab wounds. Students present reported being instructed to hide under desks and in classrooms as the lockdown was enforced for their safety.
Victim and Suspect in Hospital
The victim, confirmed to be the school principal, was transported to hospital with injuries described by police as non life-threatening. In a parallel development, a man was arrested at the scene by responding officers.
The arrested man, also a member of the school staff, was taken to hospital under police guard for treatment of minor injuries. He remains in custody and is expected to be formally interviewed by investigators in due course.

Victoria Police have indicated that the two men involved are known to each other, though the precise motive for the attack remains unclear. A spokesperson stated the investigation is ongoing and appealed for public assistance.
