A community in Greater Manchester has been left reeling after a young mother was brutally murdered during Bonfire Night celebrations while her horrified children looked on.
The victim, 28-year-old Sohbia Khan, was attacked in the early evening of November 5th in Radcliffe, Bury. Emergency services rushed to the scene but despite their efforts, Sohbia was pronounced dead at the location.
A Mother's Final Moments
According to witnesses and police reports, the horrific attack unfolded in front of Sohbia's young children, who witnessed their mother's final moments. The children are now receiving specialist support as they grapple with the trauma of what they saw.
Detective Superintendent Lewis Hughes of Greater Manchester Police described the incident as "truly devastating" and emphasized that such violence is "extremely rare" in their communities.
Community in Mourning
The murder has sent shockwaves through the local community, with neighbours and friends expressing their disbelief and horror. One resident described Sohbia as "a lovely young woman who was devoted to her children."
