A secondary school in Melbourne's south-east was thrown into emergency lockdown on Tuesday afternoon after its principal was allegedly stabbed by a member of staff.
Emergency Response at Keysborough College
Police and paramedics rushed to Keysborough Secondary College at approximately 3pm following urgent reports of a violent incident on the premises. The emergency services response was immediate, with officers securing the scene and medical personnel attending to the injured principal.
The male staff member suspected of carrying out the attack was apprehended at the scene by arriving officers. A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed the arrest, stating, "Officers quickly arrived on scene and arrested a man. He will be interviewed." The staff member remains in police custody for questioning.
Principal Hospitalised, Investigation Underway
The school's principal, whose identity has not been publicly released, was treated by paramedics before being transported to hospital. His current condition has not been disclosed, but the incident is understood to be serious.
