Shocking Footage: Father Killed in Deliberate Firework Attack on Family Home
Father killed in deliberate firework house attack

Horrifying CCTV footage has emerged showing the moment a gang deliberately fired an industrial-grade firework at a family home in Wolverhampton, causing a devastating blaze that claimed the life of a beloved father.

The Deadly Attack

The chilling video captures three individuals approaching the property on Prestwood Road, Wednesfield, just before midnight. One member of the group can be seen launching a massive firework directly at the house, which immediately ignited the building.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, 41-year-old Mohammed Yassar Yaqub was tragically pronounced dead at the location. The father-of-three had been inside the property when the firework struck, triggering an inferno that rapidly engulfed the home.

A Family's Nightmare

Mr Yaqub's family have been left utterly devastated by the calculated attack. His brother, speaking to reporters, described Mohammed as "a loving father and a wonderful human being" whose life was brutally cut short.

Neighbours reported hearing a loud explosion followed by screams as the fire took hold. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "It was like something from a nightmare. The speed at which the fire spread was terrifying."

Police Investigation Intensifies

West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation and are treating the incident as a deliberate attack. Detective Chief Inspector Jim Munro stated: "This was a reckless and cowardly act that has resulted in the most tragic of consequences."

Police are appealing for witnesses and have confirmed they are following several lines of enquiry. Authorities believe the attack may have been targeted, though the motive remains unclear.

The community has been left in shock, with local councillors describing the incident as "every family's worst nightmare." A vigil is being planned to honour Mr Yaqub's memory as the hunt for his killers continues.
