Tragic A3 Collision Claims Two Lives in Hindhead
A devastating road traffic incident on the A3 in Hindhead has resulted in two fatalities and left four individuals with serious injuries. The collision occurred on Tuesday, 3 March, shortly before 6.30pm, north of the Hindhead Tunnel, and involved two vehicles.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The crash involved a black Ford Fiesta and a grey Ford Fiesta. According to police reports, the black Fiesta was travelling northbound when, after exiting the tunnel, it crossed the central reservation onto the southbound carriageway, colliding with the grey Fiesta.
A man in his 20s, who was driving one of the vehicles, died at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
Five people were initially transported to hospital by paramedics following the collision. Among them was a woman in her thirties, the driver of one of the vehicles, who sustained life-threatening injuries. Tragically, she has since died in hospital.
Ongoing Investigation and Witness Appeal
Four men in their twenties were also taken to hospital with serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. Surrey Police have confirmed that their investigation into the collision remains active and ongoing.
Authorities are continuing to appeal for any information that could help them understand why the incident occurred and the moments leading up to it. They are particularly interested in speaking with witnesses who may have been in the area just before the collision.
