Netflix and K-Pop sensation Nana has been hospitalised with serious injuries after a terrifying confrontation with an armed burglar who broke into her family home in Seoul.
Brave Confrontation in the Early Hours
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at the star's residence in South Korea's capital. An armed man in his 30s forced his way into the property, threatening Nana and her mother while demanding money and valuables.
Displaying remarkable courage, the 34-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Im Jin-ah, physically confronted the intruder. During the violent struggle that ensued, Nana's mother was knocked unconscious by the assailant.
Serious Injuries and Ongoing Treatment
Local police confirmed that both women sustained what they described as 'serious injuries' during the physical altercation. Despite their injuries, Nana and her mother managed to detain the burglar until law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency provided an update on their condition, stating: "Nana also sustained physical injuries while trying to escape the dangerous situation." The agency added that while her mother has regained consciousness, both women require medical treatment and complete rest.
From K-Pop Stardom to Netflix Success
Nana first rose to prominence in 2009 as a member of the popular K-pop girl group After School, which later spawned subgroups Orange Caramel and After School Red. While the group is no longer active, she has successfully transitioned to acting.
Her television career includes roles in crime dramas Kill It and Justice in 2019, followed by her casting in the 2021 Netflix science fiction series Glitch. The multi-talented star recently released her first solo album in September, titled Seventh Heaven 16, and has upcoming projects including the drama Climax and another Netflix series currently under the working title Scandals.
The suspect remains in police custody facing charges of aggravated robbery following what authorities describe as a traumatic home invasion that has left the entertainment community in shock.
