Prosecutors in Utah have declined to press charges against Taylor Frankie Paul, star of the reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, after she was accused of domestic violence by her former partner Dakota Mortensen.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office announced on Tuesday that it would not pursue charges following two domestic violence investigations. Some alleged misdemeanours occurred more than two years ago and fell outside the statute of limitations, while other incidents did not meet the threshold for criminal offences. The remaining allegations lacked sufficient evidence or specificity to support charges.
The office noted that multiple attorneys reviewed the cases due to Paul's high profile. Paul, 31, celebrated the decision on social media, posting a photo of flowers and writing, 'cried when I got the call' and 'THANK YOU to those that have stood with me'.
Paul was previously set to appear on The Bachelorette, but ABC pulled the season after leaked footage showed her throwing metal chairs at Mortensen in 2023. She pleaded guilty to an assault charge and is serving a three-year probation sentence. The couple, who have a two-year-old son, have filed protective orders against each other and are in a custody battle.
