Three asylum seekers are accused of gang-raping an 'extremely vulnerable' woman on Brighton Beach, with one filming the ordeal, a court has heard. The alleged attack occurred in the early hours of October 4 last year after the woman, in her thirties, became separated from her friend following a night out.
Prosecutor Hanna Llewellyn-Waters told Hove Crown Court that the defendants treated the woman like 'meat', dragging her onto pebbles in a secluded part of the beach. The woman, who cannot be identified, said she was left bloodied and drifting in and out of consciousness during the assault.
Iranian Abdulla Amih Ahmadi, 26, and Egyptian Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, each deny two counts of rape. Egyptian Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, denies four counts of rape by encouragement and sharing intimate films. All three were residents of Home Office-approved accommodation in Horsham.
The court heard that the woman was 'falling over drunk' and unable to maintain balance. She recalled being grabbed, having her mouth opened and spat into by the man filming. Mobile phone footage showed one alleged attacker posing for the camera and sticking his tongue out.
The prosecutor said the defendants 'wanted sex' and targeted the woman because she was 'in no state to resist'. The trial continues.
