Emotional tributes have been paid to a dedicated off-duty police officer who tragically lost her life in a devastating car crash over the weekend. Police Constable Alice Mayo, aged 29, served with Cheshire Constabulary for more than six years and has been described by her heartbroken family as leaving a "legacy of laughter, fun, and sunshine."
A Tragic Incident on the A534
The fatal collision occurred on Saturday, February 7, at approximately 9am on the A534 Spark Lane, near the junction of Moorhead Lane in Arclid, Cheshire East. PC Mayo was driving her blue Fiat 500 when it was involved in a crash with a white Land Rover Defender. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, she died at the scene.
Family's Heartfelt Statement
In a moving statement, PC Mayo's devastated family expressed their profound grief and celebrated her life. They said: "Alice meant so much to so many. She was a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a niece, a dog-mum to Ned the Cocker Spaniel, and a friend to so many. She was beautiful inside and out. She will leave a huge hole in our lives, but also a legacy of laughter, fun, and sunshine. She achieved so much in her short life, and leaves behind a heartbroken, but incredibly proud, family."
The family added that Alice was at a time in her life where she was truly happy, having overcome many challenges without ever giving up. They emphasised that she was taken far too soon, highlighting the sudden and tragic nature of her passing.
