Three additional men have been formally charged in connection with alleged plots to attack two Pakistani dissidents at their residences in the United Kingdom. The charges relate to separate incidents that reportedly occurred on Christmas Eve 2025, targeting addresses in Cambridgeshire and Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
Latest Defendants Face Westminster Court Appearance
Asaf Afsar, aged 40, Mark Regan, 53, and Liam McGarry, 25, were charged on Wednesday according to statements released by the Metropolitan Police. The trio are scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday to answer the allegations against them.
Specific Charges and Geographical Connections
The charges against the three men vary in their scope and geographical focus. Both Asaf Afsar and Mark Regan, who are residents of Birmingham, face two counts each of conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm. These charges relate to both the Cambridgeshire and Buckinghamshire incidents that allegedly occurred on December 24, 2025.
Liam McGarry, who hails from Warwick, faces a single charge of conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm specifically in connection with the Cambridgeshire incident only.
Broader Investigation Involves Multiple Defendants
These latest charges expand what appears to be a significant ongoing investigation into alleged attacks against Pakistani dissidents living in the UK. Four other men were previously charged in connection with the same investigation and remain in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
Previously Charged Defendants and Their Allegations
The four previously charged individuals include Louis Regan, 25, from Birmingham, and Karl Blackbird, 40, from Bedworth. Both face two charges of conspiracy to commit assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to the Christmas Eve incidents.
Clark McAulay, 39, from Coventry, faces one charge of conspiracy to commit assault occasioning actual bodily harm specifically concerning the Chesham, Buckinghamshire incident.
Doneto Brammer, 21, from Wood Green in north London, faces more serious charges including possession of a prohibited weapon, conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life, and conspiracy to commit arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered. Brammer's charges relate to a further incident alleged to have occurred on New Year's Eve last year.
Legal Proceedings Continue
The four previously charged defendants were remanded into custody last month and are scheduled for a hearing at the Old Bailey on February 13. The addition of three more charged individuals suggests the Metropolitan Police investigation continues to develop as authorities examine the full scope of the alleged conspiracy.
The cases highlight ongoing concerns about the safety of political dissidents from various nations who have sought refuge in the United Kingdom. The targeting of individuals at their private residences during the holiday period has raised particular alarm among security experts and community representatives.
