Teenager Released on Bail Following Swindon Death
A 13-year-old girl, who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Swindon, has been released on bail by police.
The teenager was initially detained by officers after they responded to reports of a disorder inside a house on Baydon Close, Moredon, on Friday evening.
Police Discover Woman Deceased at Scene
Upon their arrival at the address, police discovered a woman in her 50s who was not breathing. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was declared dead at the scene.
Wiltshire Police have confirmed that the woman's next of kin have been informed. The investigation has established that there were no other reported injuries connected to the incident.
Ongoing Investigation and Community Reassurance
A force spokesman stated that an increased police presence would remain in the Moredon area while the investigation into the woman's death continues.
The spokesman sought to reassure local residents, saying, "There is no wider risk to the public and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."
Members of the public with any concerns have been encouraged to speak directly with their local neighbourhood policing team, either by email or by approaching officers in person.
