The mysterious disappearance of British woman Sarm Heslop has taken another sinister turn, with explosive new claims emerging about crucial CCTV footage that allegedly went missing in the aftermath of her vanishing.
Sarm, a 41-year-old former flight attendant from Southampton, disappeared without a trace from the Siren Song, a catamaran moored off St John in the US Virgin Islands, on the night of 7th March 2021. She was aboard the vessel with her American boyfriend, Ryan Bane, the boat's captain.
A Night Shrouded In Mystery
According to Bane's account to local authorities, he awoke at 2am to discover Sarm was not on board. He reported her missing approximately six hours later. However, the investigation immediately encountered baffling inconsistencies.
Most alarmingly, a hard drive containing CCTV footage from the St John Yacht Club, where the couple had dined just hours before Sarm vanished, was reportedly handed to police but has since disappeared. This footage could have provided a vital timeline of the couple's movements and demeanour that final evening.
The Boyfriend Who Won't Talk
Adding to the cloud of suspicion, Ryan Bane has repeatedly refused to be formally interviewed by Virgin Islands Police. He has also declined to take a polygraph test, a move that has deeply frustrated both investigators and Sarm's desperate family.
Bane's lawyer has stated his client "has nothing to do with Sarm's disappearance" and that he "reported her missing as soon as he realised she was gone". Yet, his silence continues to fuel speculation and anguish.
A Family's Agonising Three-Year Wait
For Sarm's heartbroken parents, who have tirelessly campaigned for answers from their home in the UK, the missing CCTV hard drive represents a catastrophic failure in the initial investigation.
"How does evidence like that just vanish?" her mother, Brenda Street, demanded in a recent emotional appeal. "We are living a nightmare, and every day without answers is torture. We just want to know what happened to our daughter."
The case, now being assisted by the FBI, remains open but unsolved. With the missing footage and a key witness who refuses to speak, the mystery of what truly happened to Sarm Heslop on that dark Caribbean night remains one of the most perplexing and tragic missing person cases of recent years.
