NT Police Find Body of Missing Five-Year-Old Girl

Northern Territory police have discovered the body of a young child in the search for a missing five-year-old girl. NT Police Commissioner Martin Dole confirmed in a press conference that investigators believe the remains are those of the missing child, who was last seen after being put to bed by her family on Saturday night.

Discovery Near Alice Springs

The body was found approximately 5 kilometres south of the Old Timers Camp in Alice Springs, where the girl lived. Commissioner Dole described the development as 'incredibly distressing' and noted that the support shown during the search had been overwhelming, but this was the worst possible outcome.

Limited Information Moving Forward

Officers have stated that they will be limited in the details they can share as the investigation continues. The community is urged to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time.
