Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a man in the early hours of Christmas Day in Wolverhampton.
Emergency Response on Burcot Avenue
Officers from West Midlands Police were called to Burcot Avenue at approximately 3.30am this morning after receiving reports that a man had been attacked. Paramedics rushed to the scene but, despite their efforts, the 30-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the location.
Arrests and Ongoing Enquiries
As part of their immediate response, detectives have arrested two men on suspicion of murder. The suspects, aged 35 and 58, are currently in custody for questioning.
Detective Chief Superintendent Ed Foster, who is leading the investigation, stated that officers are in the preliminary stages of their work. He confirmed that forensic examinations are underway, alongside urgent reviews of local CCTV footage and appeals for witnesses to come forward.
Appeal for Information
DCS Foster has made a direct appeal to the public for assistance. "We are carrying out quick-time enquiries," he said. "We ask anyone who may have any information about what happened to contact us."
