Murder Arrest After Student Found Dead in University Accommodation
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 19-year-old student was discovered deceased in her university accommodation in Preston. The tragic incident occurred at a property on Victoria Street, where Carla Georgescu was found on Thursday afternoon.
Police Investigation Underway
Lancashire Constabulary confirmed that officers attended the address following reports of a sudden death, which they are now treating as suspicious. A 34-year-old man, who was known to Ms Georgescu, has been arrested and remains in police custody.
The force has stated that they are not currently seeking any other individuals in connection with their investigation. A police spokesperson emphasized the seriousness of the situation, saying: "We know that news of this young woman's death and the police activity will be concerning to many, but we want to tell you that we have a team of detectives and uniformed officers working hard to try and establish the circumstances."
