Missing teen feared fallen into canal in Wiltshire

A search is under way after a teenager is believed to have fallen into a canal in the south west of England. Rescue teams have been wading through the water in Wiltshire after Georgie Nolan, 19, was last seen in the area in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police have organised a major search in Bradford on Avon over concerns she may have fallen in the water. Georgie was last seen at around 5am on Saturday, October 24, and is believed to have been on the Kennet and Avon Canal at that time. She has not been seen since.

Search Focused on Canal Boats

Police have described Georgie as approximately 5ft 4ins tall and to have numerous piercings. On Sunday morning, searches were focused around a number of canal boats moored behind the Barge Inn. Volunteers from the area were also searching for the girl.

An underwater camera attached to a long pole was used to investigate areas beneath boats and narrow vessels.

Teams Involved in the Search

Wiltshire Search and Rescue teams are working with the support of Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue and Hampshire Search and Rescue Dogs. The search will continue in the Bradford on Avon area.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Have you seen Georgie? “Georgie, 19, was last seen in the early hours of Saturday (24/10) near The Barge Inn, by the canal in Bradford on Avon, and we are increasingly concerned about her safety. “Georgie is described as being around 5ft 4ins tall, with lots of piercings.”
