UK recall alerts: Lasagne, flapjacks and Aldi hairdryer pulled

UK shoppers are being urged to check recent recall alerts after several well-known products were withdrawn from sale over the past week, with issues emerging concerning packaging and health hazards. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued notices urging certain customers to avoid consuming the items, while the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has cautioned about a health and safety concern.

Ready meals recalled over undeclared allergens

Carroll's of Tullamore's Traditional Lasagne has been recalled due to undeclared eggs and milk, which are not listed on the label, presenting a danger to those with allergies. The lasagne has only been stocked in Northern Ireland.

The FSA stated: "This product contains egg and milk, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg or with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. Instead, return it to where you bought it for a full refund."

Affected customers can contact Carroll's of Tullamore on (057) 936 3000, by email at Hello.CarrollCuisine@sofinafoods.eu or by post to Carroll Cuisine, Burlington Business Park, Sragh Road, Tullamore, Co Offaly, R35F7X4. The recalled product has a pack size of 350g and a use-by date of November 4, 2026.

Flapjacks withdrawn across England and Wales

Full On Flapjacks has recalled multiple flapjack products due to undeclared allergens, with the recall applying to England and Wales. The items contain almonds (nuts), soya and wheat (gluten), which are not mentioned on the packaging.

The FSA said: "These products contain almonds, soya and wheat, making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts) or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat containing gluten, or with coeliac disease."

Full On Flapjacks added: "If you have bought any of the affected products listed above and you have an allergy to almond, soya or wheat, do not eat them. Instead, return the product to the store from which you purchased it for a full refund. For further information, please contact: migginshandbake@gmail.com."

The affected products include Bakewell Flapjack (with undeclared almonds, soya and wheat), Raspberry Yoghurt Flapjack, White Chocolate Flapjack, Blueberry Swirl Flapjack and Caramel Flapjack, all with undeclared soya and wheat. All pack sizes and best-before dates are affected.

Aldi hairdryer poses electric shock risk

Aldi has recalled its Ambiano Ionic Hairdryers due to a high risk of electric shock. The OPSS warned: "The product presents a risk of electric shock or fire as, over time, the power cord may become damaged, allowing access to live parts or causing overheating. If the user were to touch an accessible live part, they could receive an electric shock. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016."

For those who have thrown away the packaging, the barcodes can still be found on the underside of the hairdryer. Aldi said: "As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling the Ambiano Ionic Hairdryer (sold between August and September 2025) because of a technical fault. Anyone who bought this product should return it to their nearest store for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

The supermarket urged customers: "Do not use the product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund." The recalled hairdryers are model 849855, available in black, white, yellow and orange, with barcodes 4061462195075 (black), 4061462195211 (white), 4061462195310 (yellow) and 4061462195372 (orange), sold during August and September 2025.
