Magic Coach's Presser Disrupted by False Alarms

The alarm system at Orlando's Kia Center apparently had no desire to hear discussion about the Magic potentially forcing a Game 7 against the Detroit Pistons. During coach Jamahl Mosley's pregame media availability ahead of Game 6 on Friday night, the alarms began blaring just as he was asked whether injured forward Franz Wagner might be available for a possible Game 7.

“That's not a good sign,” Mosley remarked as the horns sounded. He proceeded to answer the question, noting that Wagner's availability depends on his response to treatment, all while a computerized voice issued evacuation instructions to those in the building. The alarms returned seconds later, prompting Mosley to cut the session short. “All right, that's good, thank you, appreciate it,” he said.

A team official later confirmed the alarms were false. Detroit coach J.B. Bickerstaff's subsequent media session, which began about 10 minutes after Mosley's ended, proceeded without interruption. The Magic entered Game 6 holding a 3-2 series lead.
