In a case that has sent shockwaves through the capital, a depraved killer has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal murder and decapitation of his friend in a London flat.
Gareeca Conita Gordon, 42, was found guilty of murdering her friend and former housemate, 45-year-old Pauline Muchina, in what prosecutors described as a "sustained and brutal attack" at a property in East London.
The Gruesome Discovery
The horrifying crime came to light when police conducted a welfare check at Gordon's flat in Phoenix Place, Holborn, on May 7, 2020. What they discovered was truly chilling - Pauline Muchina's decapitated body wrapped in plastic sheeting and bin bags.
Forensic evidence presented during the trial at the Old Bailey revealed the sheer brutality of the attack. Ms. Muchina had suffered multiple stab wounds to her neck and chest in what appeared to be a sustained and vicious assault.
A Twisted Cover-Up Attempt

In a heartbreaking victim impact statement read to the court, Pauline's family spoke of their devastation, describing her as "the light of our family" whose future was "stolen in the most brutal way."
