Fatal gang-related attack outside London court

A person has died after being struck by a car in what police are treating as a 'gang-related targeted attack' outside a busy London magistrates' court.

Emergency Response at the Scene

The violent incident, a multi-vehicle collision, occurred on Wednesday afternoon outside Willesden Magistrates' Court in north-west London. Emergency services, including police, ambulance crews, and the fire brigade, rushed to the junction of Chapel Close and Chantry Crescent, NW10, after being called at 12.41pm.

Despite the rapid response, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson stated: 'Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.' Resources dispatched included an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, an incident response officer, and London's Air Ambulance.

Chaos and Cordon Outside the Court

The area was swiftly sealed behind police tape, with the entrance to the court blocked off. Images from the scene showed at least three police cars, a van, and an ambulance, with a smashed-up car visible amidst the emergency vehicles.

Dozens of people gathered outside the cordon, with one witness describing the chaos: '[I] don't know what's happening at Willesden Magistrates' [Court]...air ambulance, police fire, screaming, road closed.' The London Fire Brigade confirmed they were called at 12.49pm and sent one fire engine from Willesden Fire Station to deal with the collision involving multiple vehicles.

Ongoing Investigation into Targeted Attack

The Metropolitan Police are leading the investigation into the fatal incident, which is being viewed as a deliberate, gang-related assault. The location of the attack, directly outside a magistrates' court, has raised significant concerns about brazen criminal activity in the capital.

The police have been contacted for further comment as the investigation seeks to establish the full circumstances and identify those responsible for the targeted killing.
