Daylight Shooting in Hackney's Clissold Park

A major police investigation is underway in Hackney after a man was shot in a terrifying broad daylight attack in the usually tranquil Clissold Park.

Emergency services, including armed officers and the London Air Ambulance, scrambled to the popular North London park shortly after 3:15 PM on Tuesday following reports of gunfire. They discovered a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

Chaos in a Community Space

The incident sent shockwaves through the community, with the park—a favourite amongst families and dog walkers—suddenly transformed into a major crime scene. Eyewitnesses described a scene of panic and confusion as the sound of gunshots rang out.

The victim, whose age has not been formally released, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to a major trauma centre. His injuries are currently not believed to be life-threatening.

Manhunt for the Attacker

Metropolitan Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made and an urgent manhunt for the suspect is ongoing. A section of the park remains cordoned off as forensic officers meticulously scour the area for evidence, including the potential recovery of a weapon.

Detectives are appealing to the public for information, urging any witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage to come forward immediately to assist with their enquiries.
