Coronation Street actress Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow, has had her share of romantic ups and downs off-screen. The 23-year-old star previously dated co-star Liam Scholes, who played Eli Higginson on the ITV soap in 2021. The couple went public with their relationship at Christmas 2022 and were seen as a solid pair, but split suddenly in May 2024.
A source told The Sun at the time: 'Elle and Liam were loves young dream and did everything together. Their split has really shocked their co-stars and family, and no one knows exactly what happened.' The insider added that it was 'very sudden' and both had made it clear a reconciliation would take a miracle.
Fast forward to May 2025, and Elle was spotted looking 'loved-up' with a mystery man at Radio 1's Big Weekender festival. The couple were seen in the VIP area, unable to keep their hands off each other. A source told The Mirror: 'Ellie and the guy looked very happy to be in one another's company. They didn't shy away from everybody around them and looked very cosy together.'
On-screen, Elle's character Amy has faced turmoil, recently discovering that her love interest Ollie Driscoll is actually her cousin. The revelation came when Ollie's grandmother disclosed that Steve McDonald's father Jim is the biological father of Ollie's dad. Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
