A man who first exposed the murderous Lyons and Daniel feud says it will never end, despite claims of a ceasefire in the gangland violence that has plagued Scotland in the last 16 months. Billy McAllister, a former Glasgow City councillor, cannot see the two crime families ever settling their differences. He said: "This is personalised. You have more chance with the Pope and the Grandmaster of the Orange Lodge in Scotland."
Lyons and Daniel War Reignited
The feud was reignited last year following a fallout between Ross McGill, former head of Rangers fans group the Union Bears, and convicted Edinburgh drug baron Mark Richardson, who is currently in prison. McGill has strong links to the Lyons crime clan and Richardson to the Daniel family. Police Scotland Chief Constable Jo Farrell reported that rival sides have resolved their differences after a series of fire and machete attacks that resulted in 64 arrests. However, while McGill and Richardson may have made peace, the Lyons and Daniel feud shows no sign of abating.
Mum's Horror After Fiancé Beaten in Thailand
A Scottish mum has told of her horror after her fiancé was beaten black and blue in Thailand in a row over a damaged jet ski. Shannon McGinn, from Edinburgh, lives in Phuket with her fiancé Natthapol 'Boon' Deiteiam, who runs a jet-ski business. He had rented out two jet skis to an American family but claims when they returned the jet ski they had caused £560 of damage after crashing it on July 7. Boon, 30, said he chased after the family who walked away without paying. Shocking CCTV showed a male US tourist grabbing Boon and slamming him to the ground before unleashing five brutal punches to his face. Shannon, 29, said she felt sick after watching the horrifying attack that left Boon with facial fractures. Speaking to Sell Us Your Story, she said: "Every time I watch the video it makes me wince and curl up into a ball. For someone to do that to another person is immoral."
Aberdeen Uni Worker Charged Over Widdecombe Posts
An Aberdeen University employee has been charged over social media posts about the death of former MP Ann Widdecombe. The 78-year-old was found dead at her home in Haytor on Dartmoor, Devon, last Thursday after sustaining serious injuries. Terror cops believe she was killed in a "targeted attack." Comments about the former Conservative minister and later Reform UK spokeswoman were posted on social media app Bluesky on Friday. Police Scotland initially said there was no criminality but later confirmed the case was under investigation.
Scammer Who Duped Footballers Dodges Jail
A scammer who duped top Premier League and Championship footballers into sending him naked pictures has dodged jail. William Kirkpatrick, 27, pretended to be a fellow player to convince the stars into sending X-rated photos. He messaged a Sheffield Wednesday player on WhatsApp, saying the star could be added to the team group chat if he sent two naked photos. The unsuspecting victim was then asked to send the phone numbers of other players. Kirkpatrick targeted a Nottingham Forest player with a message saying: "I've got your welcome forfeit. Slips or birthday suit." Police were called by the Sheffield Wednesday player when teammates said they were not behind the messages. The Forest player believed the message was real and was 'frightened and worried about the impact on his career.' Police Scotland raided Kirkpatrick's then home in Ayr and seized an iPhone containing the naked pictures. No evidence suggested Kirkpatrick had shared or sold the images. Kirkpatrick, now of Glasgow, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court and admitted two charges of fraud. His behaviour spanned June to July 2024.
Murder Cops Swoop on Glasgow Flat
Cops have swooped on a flat in Glasgow one year after detectives searched a home in the same area as part of a murder probe into the death of Graham Wright. Graham, 38, was reported missing on August 25, 2025, after he was last seen five days earlier on Cumberland Street in the Gorbals area of the city. His dismembered body was found 33 miles away in Loch Lomond on September 13. Police were spotted carrying out inquiries at a property on Cumberland Street on Thursday, July 16, 2026. It appears to be the same property detectives searched last year as part of their investigation into Graham's death.
