Beckham to Make Fortnite Debut as Playable Character

Sir David Beckham will become a playable character in Fortnite, joining the game's Icon Series on July 18 at 1am BST. The collaboration was announced via a trailer on YouTube, showcasing the former England captain's likeness and multiple outfits inspired by his iconic looks.

Outfits and Reactive Tattoos

The collaboration includes several skins: a "Club Owner" outfit featuring a sharp black suit with a club crest, a football kit emulating his number seven shirt, and a shirtless variant with glowing gold tattoos that react during gameplay. These reactive tattoos glow with every elimination, adding a dynamic visual element.

Players can also use the "Shot Emote," which mimics Beckham's famous free-kick technique known as "Bend it like Beckham," allowing them to shoot a ball into a goal. Additional tools include the Meteor Baller Pickaxe and the Number Seven Scythe Pickaxe.

Beckham's Statement

Sir David Beckham said: "Fortnite creates new and exciting ways to connect with fans around the world. It’s been great working with them to create something that celebrates my career on and off the pitch." He previously teased the collaboration on Instagram, sharing a snap of himself helping with the character design.

This marks Beckham's first Fortnite collaboration, following other footballers like Lionel Messi, Harry Kane, and Marco Reus. He has previously appeared in EA's FIFA games as a playable character multiple times.

Career and Family

Beckham, 51, is renowned for his two-decade football career, becoming the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States, and France. He is married to Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, and they have four children: Romeo, Cruz, Harper, and Brooklyn. The family has an ongoing feud with Brooklyn.
