Counter-terrorism police have launched an investigation into an arson attack at a former synagogue in Tower Hamlets, east London, which took place on Tuesday morning. The fire, which was deliberately set, caused minor damage to the gates and a lock at the front of the building. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Series of Attacks on Jewish Sites

This incident is the latest in a string of arsons and attempted arsons targeting Jewish community locations across London over recent months. Commander Helen Flanagan, who heads Counter Terrorism Policing London, is leading the investigation and will examine any potential links to previous incidents in north-west London.

Police Appeal for Information

Local police have increased their presence in the area and are urging anyone with CCTV footage or other information to come forward to assist detectives. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the motive behind the attack.
