Club Promoter Pleads Not Guilty to DUI Charges as New Video Shows Alleged Crash Near Vegas Strip

Gavin Caci, a 28-year-old club promoter, has entered a plea of not guilty to multiple charges, including DUI, reckless driving, and hit-and-run, stemming from a severe incident last month near the Las Vegas Strip. The crash, which left a woman and toddler with serious injuries, was reportedly captured on camera by his own Tesla vehicle, providing critical evidence in the case.

Horrifying Moment Caught on Tesla Camera

Prosecutors allege that on February 8, around 7:35 p.m., Caci was driving a gray 2026 Tesla Model Y when he veered onto a sidewalk near Harmon Avenue and Audrie Lane, just east of the Las Vegas Strip. The vehicle is said to have struck a family of three, launching a toddler from a stroller. Video footage obtained by 8 News Now, recorded from multiple angles by the Tesla's camera system, shows the car driving onto the sidewalk, colliding with another vehicle, and then hitting the pedestrians, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

A preliminary blood test indicated that Caci's blood-alcohol level was 0.22 less than two hours after the crash, as reported by 8 News Now. With Nevada's legal limit set at 0.08, this suggests he was nearly three times over the allowable threshold.

Victims' Harrowing Ordeal and Legal Action

The victims, a family visiting from the United Kingdom for a wedding, were walking along the sidewalk when the crash occurred. In grand jury transcripts, the 38-year-old father described being thrown into the air and landing on his right side, suffering pain in his elbow, hip, and back. He recounted finding his wife lying motionless with a large lump on her head and bleeding, confused and unable to move.

The 2-year-old child was ejected from the stroller during the impact and thrown into a nearby pole. Both the toddler and the 32-year-old mother were transported to the hospital with severe injuries. They have since been treated and returned home to the UK. The family has filed a lawsuit against Caci and Tesla Lease Trust, alleging that the trust should have known Caci was likely to operate the vehicle in an unsafe or reckless manner.

Their attorney, Al Lasso, stated in a release that the family trusts the justice system to address the facts appropriately, preferring to avoid public commentary as the case proceeds.

Legal Proceedings and Prior Offenses

Caci is scheduled to stand trial on April 13 and is currently out on $100,000 bail. A judge has ordered him to wear an alcohol monitor and remain confined to his home until the trial. On the night of the crash, Caci told responding officers that he had consumed tequila at a nightclub but could not recall which one, according to official documents.

This is not Caci's first encounter with the law. Records obtained by 8 News Now show that on December 10, 2025, he was cited for speeding in Henderson, with an officer visually estimating he was traveling 70 mph in a 45-mph zone; radar later confirmed a speed of 69 mph. Additionally, he received tickets in 2023 for causing a crash and in 2024 for speeding, indicating a pattern of traffic violations.
