Police have made three arrests following a shooting on a busy Birmingham street that left one man injured.

Shooting on Stratford Road

The incident occurred near the junction of Stratford Road and Durham Road in Sparkhill, Birmingham, at approximately 7.25pm on Saturday, December 27. According to West Midlands Police, gunshots were fired in the area, prompting a significant emergency response.

Injury and Arrests

One man sustained a minor injury, which officers believe was caused by flying shrapnel. A vehicle was also damaged in the incident. Police officers arrived swiftly at the scene, where they witnessed a number of men attempting to flee.

During their immediate enquiries, officers seized a quantity of cannabis and an amount of cash. Three men, aged 23, 25, and 27, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs. All three remain in police custody for questioning.

West Midlands Police have confirmed their investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the event and identify all those involved. A police spokesperson issued a direct appeal to the public for assistance.
