An international DJ and former Vauxhall nightclub owner who was jailed for drug trafficking has absconded from prison. Kyle Chase, also known as Kyle Muldoon, was last seen leaving HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington at around 9am on August 18 and has not returned.
Jailed for drug conspiracy
Chase, formerly of O'Reilly Court in Vauxhall, was jailed on July 25, 2024, after admitting conspiracy to supply heroin, cocaine, ketamine and cannabis using the encrypted messaging network EncroChat. He received a sentence of 12 years and eight months.
Alongside his criminal activities, the 41-year-old had built an international reputation as a DJ under the name Eldon, a reference to the Eldonian Village where he lived. He played shows in countries including Croatia and Ecuador.
Nightclub and EncroChat dealings
In February 2023, Chase opened Spray Shop, a former garage transformed into a dance music nightclub close to Bramley Moore docks. Liverpool Crown Court heard how Chase used two handles on the EncroChat network, ThreeFatLadies and FourFatLadies, before the platform was infiltrated by European law enforcement in March 2020.
Chase was shown to have 113 other accounts stored in his contact list and had been in contact with 31 of them during the period when authorities monitored the network. Sentencing Chase, Judge Gary Woodhall said: "It is clear that you were dealing in multi-kilo quantities of cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine. You conducted your business with multiple other EncroChat users and drug dealers."
Appeal for information
Chase was last seen wearing a black jacket, black shorts, grey trainers and a grey cap. He was also believed to be carrying a black rucksack. He is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall, with brown hair and a beard, and has a number of links to the Merseyside area.
Anyone with information regarding Chase's whereabouts is asked to contact Cheshire Police via the website, quoting incident number IML-2398980.
