New data from Uber has exposed significant regional variations in passenger behaviour across the United Kingdom, revealing which cities boast the most courteous riders and which need to improve their manners.
The UK's Uber Rating Hotspots
According to comprehensive data analysed from users' most recent 500 trips, Bristol passengers received the lowest average rating in the UK at just 4.73 out of five. The capital city of London didn't fare much better, recording the second-lowest average score of 4.75.
In contrast, Belfast emerged as the nation's politest Uber users, achieving an impressive average rating of 4.91. The nationwide average for Uber passengers stands at 4.84, suggesting most Britons maintain good relationships with their drivers.
How to Boost Your Uber Rating
Uber has issued clear guidance for passengers looking to improve their scores. The company advises riders to avoid several common pitfalls that frequently annoy drivers.
Key recommendations include:
- Avoiding disrespectful behaviour towards drivers
- Ensuring punctuality when meeting your ride
- Refraining from eating in the vehicle
- Not changing destinations mid-journey
The Importance of Mutual Respect
Andrew Brem, General Manager for Uber UK, emphasised that the platform's community thrives on positive interactions between drivers and passengers.
"The Uber community is built on mutual respect," Brem stated, "and we encourage all users to maintain positive interactions that make every journey pleasant for both parties."
The data, compiled in November 2025, provides the most detailed snapshot yet of regional passenger behaviour patterns across Britain's urban centres.
