Stacey Solomon's Summer Travel Essentials for Flying with Kids
Stacey Solomon's Travel Essentials for Flying with Kids

Stacey Solomon has revealed her summer travel essentials for parents flying with children, sharing advice on how to maximise luggage allowance and keep little ones entertained. In a previous partnership with Jet2, the TV star emphasised the importance of being prepared for any eventuality when travelling with kids.

Hand Luggage Staples

Stacey highlighted several key items to pack in hand luggage to ensure a smoother flight experience for both parents and fellow passengers. These include snacks, games, and comfort items.

Snacks and Games

Bringing your own snacks is a great way to keep children occupied, save money on expensive airport food, and avoid limited in-flight options. Ensure all snacks comply with airport security rules, such as no liquids over 100ml. For entertainment, Stacey recommends card games to avoid fiddly pieces or dice rolling around the cabin. She also swears by sticker books: "My kids will sit and do sticker books for ages. They love colouring, but if you don't want to pick up pencils from under everyone's seat the entire flight, go with stickers – it's a better option!"

Cuddly Toys and Teddy Passport

A cuddly toy can be a comforting companion for children. Stacey mentioned Jet2's free 'Teddy Passport' scheme, launched in October 2023 and still available in 2026. Parents can request a complimentary passport at the check-in desk, which children can then give to cabin crew upon boarding. A Jet2 spokesperson said: "After receiving a teddy bear passport, holidaymakers can then give their teddy’s passport to Cabin Crew when boarding. As well as being a fun start to the holiday, parents have reported that it has helped their children feel a sense of independence and given them some understanding about the process of travelling overseas from a young age."

Packing Tips from Stacey

Make a List

Stacey advises creating a list of everything you need to take. This helps prevent forgetting items, overpacking, or leaving something behind. She said: "I know exactly what I've got if I refer to my list."

Use Packing Cubes

Stacey "genuinely swears by" packing cubes, which can be purchased from retailers like Amazon, Argos, Dunelm, and Primark. In her Jet2 video, she organised items into categories such as cosmetics and sun safety for easy access.

Plan Crease-Free Outfits

By choosing clothes that won't wrinkle easily, items can be packed more tightly, saving space. Stacey joked: "Stop going on holiday in linen – you'll be ironing the whole time!"
