RAC Issues Urgent Dashboard Warning Light Advice for Drivers

The RAC has issued an urgent message to drivers about dashboard warning lights that should never be ignored. The motoring experts shared a handy guide on TikTok, warning that yellow lights indicate caution while red lights require immediate action.

In a video posted to their 4,000 followers, the RAC explained that yellow warning lights mean drivers should check the right brake lamp, take extra care, and consult their handbook. They advised getting the problem looked at as soon as possible.

For red warning lights, the RAC said drivers must pull over and stop driving immediately. They recommended calling the RAC Mobile Mechanic for yellow lights and reporting a breakdown via myRAC for red lights.

The RAC reminded drivers that it is normal for warning lights to flash briefly when starting the vehicle, but if they remain on, professional help should be sought. They also emphasised the importance of having breakdown cover, especially when travelling abroad.
