Major incident: Huge Southall warehouse fire

Major Incident Declared as Fire Rips Through Southall Warehouse

A significant fire has erupted at a two-storey warehouse and retail complex in Southall, prompting the London Fire Brigade (LFB) to declare a 'major incident'. The blaze, which broke out on the morning of Tuesday, 25th November 2025, is involving fireworks and gas cylinders, creating significant safety risks.

Emergency Response and Hazards

Approximately 150 firefighters using 25 fire engines were deployed to tackle the intense flames. Due to the dangerous contents of the building, including reported explosions, crews have withdrawn to a safe distance. They are now fighting the fire from above using turntable ladders. It is estimated that three-quarters of the structure is ablaze, and firefighting efforts are expected to continue throughout the day.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple, powerful explosions. One resident described the scene, saying, "The explosion was going on every 10 seconds half an hour ago. Explosion after explosion." A local business owner who operated from the warehouse has estimated their losses to be over £10,000.

Public Advice and Disruption

A massive plume of thick smoke from the fire is visible across a large area of West London. The LFB and Ealing Council have advised residents in the immediate vicinity to keep their doors and windows closed as a precaution.

The incident has caused severe traffic disruption and road closures. Bridge Road is closed in both directions, and public transport, including the 427 bus route, has been diverted. Despite the scale of the incident, the London Ambulance Service has confirmed that there have been no reported injuries to members of the public or emergency service personnel. A Hazardous Area Response Team is on the scene as a precautionary measure.
