As spring approaches and temperatures rise, many Britons are planning trips to the coast. Experts at Go Outdoors have compiled a ranking of the UK's best spring beaches, based on average temperatures, rainfall, sunshine hours, and Google reviews. Each beach received a score out of 10.
Topping the list is Cuckmere Haven in East Sussex, with a score of 9.60. The beach enjoys 7.8 hours of daily spring sunshine and only 52mm of rainfall per month. Visitors can take in views of the Seven Sisters cliffs and walk along the Cuckmere River.
Second place goes to Southwold Beach in Suffolk, scoring 8.68. The sandy stretch runs from the River Blyth mouth past Southwold Pier, which offers arcade games, cafes, and restaurants.
Druridge Bay Beach in Northumberland comes third with a score of 8.53, despite having the highest Google review rating of 4.9 out of 5. The seven-mile beach is near woodlands home to roe deer and red squirrels.
