In a festive first, the UK's best value theme park is throwing open the gates to its most thrilling rides this winter. Drayton Manor, located in the Midlands, will operate its biggest attractions throughout the Christmas period to mark a major milestone.
A Winter Thrill-Seeker's Paradise
Breaking from its traditional winter closure, the park is celebrating its 75th anniversary with an unprecedented offering. Throughout weekends in December, the Christmas week, and the Twixmas period, visitors can experience adrenaline-pumping roller coasters and rides. This makes Drayton Manor the only theme park in the country running its major attractions during the colder months, while competitors like Thorpe Park and Alton Towers scale back.
Thrill-seekers can look forward to whizzing around on favourites such as Gold Rush, The Wave, and Maelstrom. They will also be joined by the Accelerator, Air Race, and the Bounty Pirate Ship, ensuring a full day of exhilarating fun for the entire family.
Magical Festivities and a Spectacular New Show
Beyond the rides, the park is transforming into a winter wonderland. A brand new end-of-day spectacle, 'Drayton Manor's Christmas Miracle', will dazzle guests. The show takes place on the park's historic lake and features a 30-metre water screen, over 65 choreographed water jets, dramatic fire effects, and magical festive animations.
Managing Director Victoria Lynn stated: 'As we celebrate our 75th anniversary this year, we want Christmas at Drayton Manor to be bigger and better than ever before.' She emphasised that the park is proud to offer 'an epic day of exhilarating fun for all the family this December.'
Encounters with Elves and Santa Himself
The festive experience extends throughout the resort with a host of seasonal activities. For the first time, cheerful elves will be in Vikings Land, engaging visitors with snowball fights, marshmallow toasting, and cookie decorating.
Families can also look forward to:
- The return of the Castle Grotto with Mrs Claus for an enchanting story-time.
- Children's activities including making reindeer food and Santa letter writing.
- A magical meeting with Father Christmas himself.
Tickets are priced from just £25, which includes access to both the exciting rides and all the festive attractions. Drayton Manor will be open on selected dates between November 22 and December 31, offering a unique blend of thrills and Christmas magic.
