A first-time visit to Legoland Windsor proved surprisingly affordable for one mum, who shares three easy ways to stretch your budget at the popular theme park.
Booking tickets in advance saves money
On-the-day tickets cost £68 per person, but booking online can bring the price down to from £34.13 per person—a notable saving even if you decide the day before. Tesco Clubcard points or Nectar Points can also be redeemed towards a visit.
Merlin Attractions, the parent group, offers deals and sales on annual passes, which could be worth considering if you plan to visit other attractions like Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Madame Tussauds, or SEA Life Aquariums.
For those travelling from further afield, Legoland Windsor has onsite and partner hotels, with short breaks from £102 per person over the summer holidays, including tickets, hotel stay, and in some cases breakfast.
Bring your own picnic
Legoland allows visitors to bring their own food and drink into the park—a helpful perk, especially for picky toddlers. Packing snacks and lunch can save a significant amount, as one meal on site could cost around £30 for chicken and chips for three people.
There are plenty of food stalls and restaurants if you prefer to treat yourselves, and free water refill stands are located around the park, usually near toilets or baby changing facilities.
Height restrictions don't spoil the fun
Kids under 90cm go free at Legoland. A toddler at about 88cm was too short for bigger rides and rollercoasters, but there were still over 55 attractions, shows, and playgrounds to enjoy as a family.
The visit lasted from about 10am to 5.30pm, and there was still plenty left to explore. The free ticket for the little one was an added bonus.
