Family's Dream Holiday to Turkey Turns to Terror as Hotel Evacuates Over 'Imminent Landslide' Risk
Family's Turkey Holiday Nightmare Over Hotel Landslide Risk

A British family's idyllic summer getaway was shattered into a scene of panic and confusion after their Turkish hotel was suddenly evacuated over fears of an imminent and catastrophic landslide.

Charlotte and Mark Davis, along with their two young children, had been looking forward to a week of sun and relaxation at the five-star Limak Arcadia Golf Resort in Antalya. Their dream holiday, however, quickly morphed into a "terrifying nightmare" just days after arriving.

The first unsettling sign was a large crack that appeared in the ground near the hotel's swimming pool. "We noticed this massive crack in the floor by the pool, and then they just cordoned it off," Charlotte recounted.

The situation escalated dramatically on their fourth day. Without any official warning from hotel staff or TUI reps, panic spread through the complex as other guests began frantically packing. The Davis family was left to learn the terrifying truth from fellow tourists: the entire hotel was being evacuated because the ground was literally shifting beneath them.

A Scene of Chaos and Confusion

"People were running around, shouting, absolutely terrified," said Charlotte. "There was no plan. We were just told to get out. We had to find our own way to a different hotel with our kids and all our luggage. It was utter chaos."

Forced to abandon their room, the family faced a stressful and disorganised relocation to alternative accommodation, a process they described as having no structure or support from the tour operator on the ground.

Left in the Dark Without Support

The family's frustration was compounded by a perceived lack of communication and care from their tour operator, TUI. "There was no information, no reassurance, nothing," Mark stated. "We felt completely abandoned in a scary situation. We're just glad we all got out safely."

A TUI spokesperson later stated, "We are aware of the situation and can confirm that all customers were moved to alternative hotels as a precautionary measure... We would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding."

The Davis family's story serves as a chilling reminder of how quickly a dream holiday can turn into a traveller's worst nightmare.
