The budget airline confirmed it will begin operating direct flights from Newcastle International Airport to Sharm El Sheikh starting in August 2026, with one-way fares beginning at an astonishing £91.99. This new route provides a welcome addition for travellers in the North East seeking reliable winter warmth, as Sharm El Sheikh boasts average January temperatures of a balmy 22°C.
Located on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, Sharm El Sheikh is famed for its stretches of golden sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Red Sea. The destination is a magnet for snorkelling and scuba diving enthusiasts, thanks to its vibrant coral reefs and diverse tropical marine life.

For those who can't wait until 2026, easyJet already operates direct services to Sharm El Sheikh from six other UK airports: Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, and Manchester, with December 2025 flights also starting from £91.99.
