Disneyland Paris has officially announced the grand opening date for its multi-billion euro transformation, revealing that 29 March 2026 will mark the debut of the spectacular Disney Adventure World at the Walt Disney Studios Park.
A Spectacular Drone Show Revelation
The eagerly anticipated opening date was unveiled during a breathtaking Frozen-themed drone display above the French resort, creating a magical atmosphere for visitors and Disney enthusiasts. This announcement confirms the timeline for one of Europe's most ambitious theme park developments, backed by a €2 billion investment plan that represents the most significant transformation in the resort's history.
Enter the Magical World of Frozen
The centrepiece of this massive expansion is the World of Frozen, which will transport guests directly into the heart of the beloved animated films. Visitors will find themselves immersed in the Kingdom of Arendelle, recreated on a life-size scale that promises an authentic experience.
Among the standout features will be a 118-foot (36-metre) North Mountain crowned by Elsa's magnificent Ice Palace, creating an impressive backdrop for the entire area. At its base lies the fictional village of Arendelle, complete with colourful Nordic-inspired buildings and sparkling water features that faithfully recreate the film's Scandinavian landscapes.
Next-Generation Attractions and Experiences
Guests can look forward to several groundbreaking attractions, including:
- Frozen Ever After - A family-friendly boat ride that takes visitors on a journey alongside Anna, Elsa, and other beloved characters, featuring iconic songs like 'Do You Want to Build a Snowman?' and 'Let It Go'
- True-to-size Olaf - Brought to life through next-generation robotic technology that allows the character to walk and talk
- Royal encounters - Opportunities to meet queens Anna and Elsa in person
- Snowflower Festival - A daytime celebration that brings the entire village of Arendelle to life
The Frozen Ever After attraction will journey from snowy forests through the Valley of the Trolls and Elsa's dazzling Ice Palace, culminating in a spectacular finale at Arendelle Bay illuminated by snowflake-shaped fireworks.
A New Era for European Tourism
Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris, described the development as a 'historic milestone' for the resort. She emphasised that this expansion pushes the boundaries of storytelling while inviting guests to live their own adventures in reimagined environments.
'This marks a new era for Europe's number one tourist destination,' Rafalski stated, 'filled with deeper storytelling, stronger emotions, and unforgettable moments.'
The transformation reflects a bold creative vision made possible by the talents of Walt Disney Imagineering and the dedication of cast members who bring these magical stories to life.
Beyond Arendelle: Additional Immersive Worlds
The reimagined second park will transport guests into multiple beloved universes, featuring three spectacular immersive lands:
- The new World of Frozen
- The colourful Worlds of Pixar
- The epic Marvel Avengers Campus
These will later be joined by a fourth world inspired by the classic Disney Animation film The Lion King, ensuring that the expansion continues to evolve and offer new experiences for returning visitors.
With this ambitious project, Disneyland Paris reinforces its position as Europe's premier tourist destination while setting new standards for immersive theme park experiences that blend cutting-edge technology with beloved storytelling.
