Package holiday company On the Beach has introduced a new 'Family Fallout Refund', already nicknamed the 'Beckham Clause', following the public Beckham family drama. The perk allows families to get a refund for a member who drops out due to a feud, argument, or emotional meltdown before departure.
Under the policy, if a family member withdraws due to a fallout, their share of the hotel booking cost will be refunded to the lead booker. This ensures the rest of the group can still enjoy the holiday without bearing the financial burden of the absent member.
Zoe Harris, chief customer officer at On the Beach, said: “We love family holidays, but we’re also very aware that family fallouts can hamper plans. The ‘Beckham Clause’ is there for those moments when someone decides they’d rather cool off at home than by the pool.”
The perk applies to family holidays with five or more people, and claims must be made at least 60 days before departure. It covers new and existing bookings departing on or before 31 August 2026. Only one cancellation per booking is allowed, and the refund excludes flights, transfers, and extras.
On the Beach is also offering other free perks for 2026 bookings made 60 days in advance, including lounge access, gadget insurance, weather protection, a £50 Amazon voucher, or Price Drop Protection, plus 1GB of free mobile data on all bookings.
