Spotify launches 'Your Party of the Year(s)' for 20th anniversary – a personalised music history

Spotify has marked its 20th anniversary with a new feature called 'Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s)', offering users a personalised look at their entire music history on the platform. Similar to the annual 'Wrapped' series, the feature reveals the first day on the service, total number of unique songs listened to, the first song streamed, and the all-time most streamed artist.

Listeners will also receive an 'All-Time Top Songs Playlist' containing their top 120 tracks, complete with play counts. The data story comes with a custom share card that can be saved or shared on social media. To access it, users can search 'Spotify 20' or 'Party of the Year(s)' in the mobile app, or visit spotify.com/20.

The launch follows Spotify's recent reveal of all-time most-streamed artists, songs and albums, with Taylor Swift as the top artist, Bad Bunny's 'Un Verano Sin Ti' as the top album, and The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights' as the top song. However, the platform has faced controversy over artist payment and CEO Daniel Ek's investments, including a €600 million investment in Helsing, a military AI company.

Several artists, including Massive Attack, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and Deerhoof, have boycotted Spotify or removed their music in protest. Meanwhile, Ek announced he will step down as CEO on 1 January 2026, with co-presidents Alex Norström and Gustav Söderström taking over.
