Poco C95 Pro and POCO X8: Budget phones with flagship features

Xiaomi has announced two new budget Android smartphones, the Poco C95 Pro and the POCO X8, both offering premium features at low prices. The Poco C95 Pro is priced at £259 but is currently reduced to £159.

Poco C95 Pro: large screen and AI camera

The Poco C95 Pro features a 6.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate for stutter-free scrolling. Notably, this technology is not present on the iPhone 17e, which costs £699. The rear case houses a dual-lens camera powered by AI for improved photos.

After shooting, users can access AI editing tools including AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Image Expansion, AI Image Enhancement, and AI Beautify. The device is protected by toughened Gorilla Glass and has an IP64 dust and water resistance rating.

Power and charging features

Under the hood, a MediaTek processor powers the device, supported by a large battery with 45W turbo charging for faster refills. The Poco C95 Pro also supports reverse charging, allowing it to wirelessly boost other devices like earbuds when placed on the rear case—a feature many flagship rivals lack.

POCO X8: even cheaper with huge battery

Xiaomi is also launching the even cheaper POCO X8, which comes with a massive 8,340mAh battery designed to last beyond a single day of usage. It features a 6.83-inch screen, Corning Gorilla Glass design, and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Mobile Platform.

Content creators can shoot dual video using both the 50MP rear camera and the front-facing selfie snapper simultaneously. The POCO X8 is available in White, Black, and Orange, offered in one variant: 8GB + 256GB priced at £329.
