Newcastle United continue to be linked with new signings as the transfer window progresses, with the club reportedly interested in Folarin Balogun, Davide Frattesi, and Amar Dedic.
Balogun's £51m valuation
French outlet L'Equipe has claimed that both Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in former Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun. The USA forward has been on the Magpies' radar since April, and now the club is reportedly considering a move for the player valued at around £51m.
In 91 matches for Monaco, Balogun has contributed 31 goals and 13 assists, with 24 goal contributions last season. Newcastle struggled in the goal-scoring department last season, with neither Nico Woltemade nor Yoane Wissa finding their feet.
Balogun enjoyed an excellent World Cup, which was perhaps marred by his unintentional involvement in a saga that saw Donald Trump call FIFA to ask them to take another look at his red card incident before they suspended his ban so he could feature against Belgium. Before that episode, Balogun helped himself to three goals and one assist in four World Cup appearances for his country.
Frattesi 'offered' to Newcastle
Newcastle have been 'offered' the opportunity to sign Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi, according to TeamTalk. The central midfielder has essentially been offered up to Jaissle's side as the club looks to fill the void left by Bruno Guimaraes' departure.
Frattesi is a versatile star who can operate in various capacities in the midfield. He can perhaps be better compared with the likes of Joe Willock rather than Guimaraes. Another player linked with St. James' Park is Aleksandar Stankovic, who has emerged as a target for the club.
Amar Dedic pursuit
TeamTalk has also claimed that Amar Dedic is being pursued by Newcastle, with Jaissle's side having opened talks with the defender's club Benfica about a potential move. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is believed to be valued at around £25.6m by the Portuguese heavyweights.
The defender is known for his versatility and adeptness at playing right-back, left-back, and centre-back.
