Man United Discuss Camavinga Transfer as Carrick Eyes Midfield

Manchester United have 'internally discussed' the possibility of signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The revelation comes despite United already completing three midfield signings this summer, with manager Michael Carrick seemingly intent on further strengthening his engine room.

United's Summer Business So Far

United have been active in the transfer market, securing Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £50 million, Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35 million, and goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer after his Leeds United contract expired. These additions bring the club's spending to £85 million on midfield talent alone.

However, according to Romano, United are still weighing up further options. 'Man Utd are considering a few options before deciding who is the player they want,' Romano said on his YouTube channel. 'Another option mentioned internally in the meetings has been Eduardo Camavinga.'

Camavinga's Situation at Real Madrid

Camavinga, 23, faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu, with reports suggesting he could be available for approximately £43 million. Despite this, Romano cautioned that the player himself is not keen on a move. 'Camavinga doesn't want to leave Real Madrid this summer. Camavinga wants to stay, Camavinga wants to be an important part of Real Madrid project next season,' he said. 'The Camavinga story could only be possible if the player decides to go. So this is why the deal for Camavinga is complicated.'

Other Midfield Targets

Romano also named Roma's Manu Kone as another potential target, describing him as a 'defensive midfielder who can run, who can help with intensity, also physical.' The club's pursuit of Atalanta's Ederson had previously reached a £38.8 million agreement, but doubts have emerged over whether that move will proceed after the Santos and Tielemans deals.

With the summer transfer window gathering pace, United's midfield rebuild under Carrick remains a key focus, and the potential addition of Camavinga would represent a significant statement of intent.
