Apple fans can now double the storage of the iPhone Air for just £1 per month in a rare deal from Sky Mobile. The ultra-thin device, which measures only 5.6mm thick, is available with a base 128GB storage on Sky's £28 monthly plan. By paying £29 per month (equivalent to roughly 93p per day across a 31-day month), shoppers can upgrade to 512GB. There is also an option to increase storage to 1TB for £31 per month. All plans require a £12 upfront cost.
Limited Stock and Data Allowance
The deal is selling fast, with only Space Black and Sky Blue models remaining in stock. However, Sky's £28 plan includes a small 100MB data allowance, so heavier users may need to choose a larger data package, ranging from 3GB for £5 to unlimited for £20. Contracts run for 36 months, with an option to upgrade after 24 months at no extra cost.
Competing Offers and Pricing
Elsewhere, EE's summer sale has cut £866 off the iPhone Air and offers double storage at no extra cost. The 512GB model on EE's 125GB Essentials plan is now £48.26 per month (was £66.26) with £30 upfront. Alternatively, buying the iPhone Air outright at Amazon is currently £200 cheaper, with the 256GB model reduced from £999 to £799.
iPhone Air Design and Features
The iPhone Air, launched in September, is Apple's thinnest smartphone at just 5.6mm thick and weighing 165g. It features a robust titanium frame and a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield on both sides for protection. Powered by the A19 Pro chip, it supports Apple Intelligence, iOS 26, and includes a 48MP Fusion camera system.
Technology Editor Dave Snelling got hands-on with the iPhone Air at Apple's California headquarters and said: “I’ve been using this device since it was unveiled and it has to be seen to be believed. It’s so skinny and light you barely notice it in your pocket, and it has a striking design that’s guaranteed to have everyone talking.”
Durability and Performance
Snelling also noted the device's durability: “You might be worried about durability. Well, I’ve actually seen what the firm puts this device through in the lab and it’s gruelling to watch. Apple’s team applies huge amounts of pressure to the middle of the screen to see how the design will cope under extreme stress. Although it bends, the Air doesn’t crack and instantly returns to its normal shape.”
He praised the display and processor: “Along with its eye-catching appearance, the Air also features a stunning 6.5” ProMotion 120Hz display that looks pin-sharp and packed with colour. Under its tough shell is an A19 Pro processor, which will supply more grunt than you will ever need and is perfect for work and play on the move. That chip is also very efficient, and that's great news for battery life.”
Camera Compromise
However, Snelling highlighted a compromise: “To maximise every inch of space inside the device, Apple’s design team has placed the processor, modem and other vital tech in a bar that runs across the top of the rear. It looks neat but does mean there’s only room for one camera. The cheaper iPhone 17 has two lenses and the Pro takes that up to three. It is a clever 48MP fusion snapper so you can zoom and snap wider-angle shots, plus it will take portrait images and shoot video in 4K. It’s decent enough but it simply can’t match the might of the iPhone 17 Pro’s triple camera system. If you simply take photos of your pets or kids playing in the park, you probably won’t be all that disappointed, but those who want the ultimate image experience are definitely better off switching to the Pro models.”
