Inkey List Relaunches Viral Oat Balm Cleanser

The Inkey List's cult-favourite Oat Balm Cleanser has been relaunched with a new formula that addresses common complaints about graininess, oil separation and packaging. The product, which has sold over six million units globally since its 2018 debut, now features a smoother, richer buttery texture.

Reformulation Details

Co-founder Colette Laxton said the company went through 129 rounds of formulations to perfect the new version. 'We decided to listen to our customers and reformulate our cult-favourite,' she explained. The updated formula increases oat kernel oil from 3% to 5% for extra hydration and barrier support, and adds sea buckthorn oil, which is rich in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory antioxidants to help balance skin.

The cleanser now includes a trio of natural waxes to create an optimal conditioning texture. It removes 100% of makeup, including waterproof products, and daily buildup in just 30 seconds without stripping the skin.

Suitable for All Skin Types

Laxton emphasised that the new formula is suitable for all skin types, including those with acne, eczema or sensitive skin. 'A lot of people don't think balms are suitable for their skin, particularly if they have acne, eczema or sensitive skin. So, we're super proud to have created one that EVERYONE can use,' she said.

The product can also be used as a calming and hydrating mask by applying it for 10 minutes before rinsing, or as a shaving balm for sensitive skin.

Fans have praised the cleanser's performance. One customer said: 'This gentle, nourishing balm from The INKEY List is an absolute staple for makeup lovers. It effortlessly dissolves the most stubborn waterproof products while leaving your skin feeling perfectly hydrated, soft, and comfortable.'

A third customer commented: 'A really good cleanser, gets everything off in one go, leaves my skin feeling soft but clean! Will definitely keep repurchasing, great price for the amount you get.'

Priced at £15, the new Oat Balm Cleanser is available now.
