Arsenal are accelerating their summer transfer activity, with two key targets moving closer to the Emirates Stadium. The club, fresh off their first Premier League title in 22 years, is working to strengthen under sporting director Andrea Berta.
Christos Tzolis Nears Arsenal Move
Arsenal are closing in on a £35 million deal for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, according to The Sun. The 24-year-old Greece international, a self-declared Arsenal fan, previously stated: "I hope that Arsenal come for me. If Arsenal come, it would be a privilege for any player to play for them."
Tzolis is seen as a replacement for Leandro Trossard rather than a marquee left-flank signing. He scored 22 goals and provided 29 assists in 52 appearances last season, and has 43 goals and 45 assists in 108 games since joining Brugge in 2024. The fee would set a record for a Greek international, surpassing Brighton's Babis Kostoulas. Tzolis can play on either wing or as a centre-forward and is under contract until 2029.
Bruno Guimaraes' Reasons for Wanting Arsenal
Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes. The Brazil international has asked to leave despite Newcastle's insistence he is not for sale. According to Fabrizio Romano, Guimaraes is motivated by the chance to work with Mikel Arteta, a desire to live in London, and his sporting ambitions, including Champions League football and winning more trophies, having briefly experienced both with Newcastle.
Arsenal are weighing up an offer for the midfielder, who has informed the club of his wish to join Arteta's side. The Gunners have already secured Piero Hincapie for £34.5 million and backup goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer this summer.
