Clarks has reduced its Calo Run trainers to £30, half the original price of £60, offering a budget-friendly alternative to similar New Balance styles. The black sneakers bear a strong resemblance to New Balance's 471 Shoes, which are also on sale at half price, dropping from £90 to £45.
Design and Features
The Calo Run trainers feature a mixed textile upper, a flexible grippy sole, breathable textile lining, and adjustable laces for support. Available in sizes three to eight, most black pairs remain in stock online. Other colourways, including leopard print, white, navy, beige, and light green, are also offered; the light green pair is similarly reduced to £30, while the rest remain at full price (£60).
New Balance's 471 Shoes reinterpret 1970s running heritage with a low profile, wedge-shaped EVA midsole, herringbone outsole, breathable mesh uppers, suede overlays, and a classic 'fang' design. The Clarks version channels athleisure style suitable for both exercise and everyday wear.
Customer Reviews
The Calo Run trainers hold a 4.8 out of 5 star rating from over a dozen reviews. One satisfied shopper said: "I already have a pair and I like them so much that I’ve bought a back-up." Another wrote: "Incredible value for money. I love the fact they’re pink and add a flash of colour to my outfit. I’ve just spent the weekend walking 20,000 steps a day in Paris with them."
A third reviewer commented: "Incredibly beautiful for the price. They are incredibly well-finished. A top sneaker with a good footbed." However, one three-star review noted: "Nice trainers but too big. I am a 5.5 in Clarks and there are no half sizes. size five is too neat."
Another buyer shared: "I bought these because I gone through lots of trainers trying to fix my plantar fasciitis and I felt like it was my last chance to have good-fitting shoes. The trainers are supportive for my feet and theses are my second pair." Additional five-star reviews described them as "stunning" and "stylish, comfortable trainers."
