A mechanic and published author has named Honda as the world's most reliable car brand, suggesting that if everyone drove one, he would be out of work. James Goodhand, speaking to Reach PLC, praised the Japanese marque for its outstanding reliability, citing a 20-year-old Civic with over 200,000 miles that still runs smoothly.
Goodhand, who owns a Volvo V90 and a BMW M3, highlighted Honda's engineering prowess. He noted that the engine of the older Civic is so quiet and smooth that one could balance a cup of tea on it. His comments align with other experts, such as those at WhatCar?, who praised the Honda Jazz for its practicality and reliability.
Honda's reputation comes as the brand considers its manufacturing future in the UK. After nearly 40 years of production near Swindon, the factory closed in 2021. The site is now being redeveloped into Panattoni Park, a £900m commercial project expected to create thousands of jobs.
